Golden Ginettas

Have you got a race prepared Ginetta in need of a race?

Do you want some exciting, good value, racing in 2008?

WE NEED TO HEAR FROM YOU.

G4, G12, G15, G16, G20, G27, GT4……?

We are hoping that 2008 will be the first year of running an exciting new race series for all race prepared Ginettas. Negotiations have yet to be finalised, but we are intending to run the series over six double-headers at one day BARC meetings at well known circuits in the South East of England. Entry fees will be kept to a reasonable level (i.e. as cheap as we can economically make them!)

Any Ginetta from any era (subject, for safety reasons, to a maximum power output and engine capacity) will be welcome to race and an appropriate class structure will be devised to make sure that everyone gets the good, close racing you want. There will also be a class for modified cars which do not conform to any previous Ginetta Championship regulations. The Golden Ginettas series will be strictly for fun and the aim is to keep all unnecessary costs to an absolute minimum so that we attract as many entrants as possible and keep the racing exciting. Any avoidable contact on track will not be acceptable!

We are hoping to attract a lot of the G20s, G27s and GT4s that have raced over the last few years in the official Ginetta Cup which will run in classes reflecting the championship regulations of when they last raced. We also want to attract older Ginetta models - provided they have all the appropriate safety equipment fitted, obviously – so that the full history of the marque will be racing on track side by side. While the Golden Ginettas series will be run independently from Ginetta Cars, we are very pleased that they have given us their blessing for this series and that they share our aim to get as many of these superb machines back where they belong – on the racing track.

At this stage, it is important that we are able to provide BARC with a good idea of how many people might be interested in racing with us next year. If we cannot demonstrate sufficient support then we will not be able to reserve the race slots at their meetings and Golden Ginettas will just not happen! We are not asking for a commitment from you, right now, that you will enter the Golden Ginettas series next season – just an indication that you may be interested and that there is a good chance that you will enter. If we can demonstrate the interest from you, we can get the support of BARC and we will race!
